Continuous Professional Development
Physiotherapy is all about lifelong learning and as a member of the ISCP you will be expected to partake in CPD or continuous professional development. CPD is the means by which individuals continuously upgrade their professional and personal knowledge and refine their skills to ensure the highest possible standards. (ISCP,2002)
Types of CPD
CPD can be categorized as formal or informal based on the type of CPD being completed.
Examples of formal CPD: Certified courses to achieve competence in an area. E.g. Dry needling courses.
Examples of Informal CPD: Personal indepth study of papers surrounding a particular topic which increases members knowledge/competence in an area may be considered a form of informal CPD.
